The purpose of the Blue Ridge Community Theater is to provide an environment which fosters and inspires growth, responsibility, and creativity in people of all ages and cultures through a broad theater arts program. Membership in the Blue Ridge Community Theater means that you are a full member of our theater family. The main focus of our membership is "Excellence on the Stage" both in our Main Stage Plays and in our Children's and Youth Workshops. Your dues financially support keeping the lights on (literally) and are the base of our operating budget. We are a fully volunteer organization and our members do our work. You do not have to be a member to attend or act in plays, but we encourage you to join. In becoming a member of the Blue Ridge Community Theater, you will: contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of Blue Ridge and our area; receive discounted admission to the Act One series and other special events; enjoy opportunities to meet people and participate as a volunteer in doing the work of theater; be invited to the FREE Annual Membership Party, the Season Kickoff Party and four "Mingle with the Stars" Pizza Parties; receive the Newsletter, audition notices and other special invitations by mail; have an opportunity to participate in quarterly educational sessions that include discussions with actors and directors; have First Choice on limited Special Performance tickets; be listed as a supporter in each Playbill for the main stage season; and have an opportunity to participate in quarterly educational sessions that include discussion with actors and directors in current production. Additionally, while we are happy to take and honor reservations for all shows based on availability and our policy of open seating, being a BRCT member gets you more than that! As a special consideration to our members, we will now reserve the best seats in the house for you. Simply tell our office staff when you call for your reservations whether you prefer center seats or seats on the aisle, and your seats will be held for you until five minutes before curtain. Your membership is a special gift of gratitude and encouragement to our actors, directors, designers and volunteers who give endless hours to make theater come alive on our stage.
