"Disney's Moana, Jr." is an enchanting theatrical adaptation of the beloved animated film "Moana" by Disney. The story follows the courageous and determined young Polynesian princess, Moana on an epic journey that takes her beyond her island home of Motunui.
Despite her father's warnings about its dangers, Moana has always been drawn to the ocean. When her island suffers from a mysterious blight that threatens their livelihood, Moana embarks on a daring quest to save her people. Guided by the spirit of her grandmother, Gramma Tala, Moana sets off on a thrilling adventure to find the demigod Maui, who can help her restore the heart of Te Fiti, a powerful and benevolent goddess.
Joined by the mischievous and shape-shifting demigod Maui, Moana faces treacherous oceans, encounters mythical creatures, and battles against the forces of nature. Along the way, Moana discovers her own identity and learns to embrace her heritage and the power within her.
With heartwarming songs like "How Far I'll Go" and "You're Welcome," the young Moana captivates audiences with her determination and bravery. As she navigates the challenges of her quest, Moana encounters her ancestors' spirit and learns valuable lessons about the importance of community, self-discovery, and the interconnectedness of all living things.

All kids ages 5 - 18 are encouraged to audition. Everyone will be cast.

three ancient chiefs of Moana's family line who share the tales of their past with their people

a strong, confident young woman and the future Chief of Motunui who is deeply connected to her island as well as the ocean and is curious about what lies beyond the reef; empowered and driven, Moana will stop at nothing to save her people

Moana's father and leader of Motunui who is protective of his daughter and his people, always wanting to keep them safe

Moana's kind and loving mother who takes great pride in her daughter

one of Moana's best friends, who is sweet and unconditionally loyal, even if easily scared

Moana's other best friend, who is well-meaning but not so bright

the wise and eccentric grandmother of Moana and mother of ChiefTui; she holds her role as Motunui's storyteller with pride, passing on the stories of the island's past

the comedic, selfish, and sarcastic demigod of the wind and sea, who actually has a heart of gold

a gigantic crab and collector of all things "shiny” who is dangerously egotistical and dramatic

Tamatoa's crony-like claws who act as extensions of the crab's self-centered and ostentatious nature

the regal and benevolent mother island, creator of all life; without her heart she appears as TE KA, a demon of earth and fire
